Abby started her current position at the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce in December 2015, and in addition to marketing responsibilities, she was assigned to manage and grow Impact CB, the young professionals group of the Chamber, and named the Ex-Officio member to the Board.
In 2016, Impact CB's membership has increased by 48% and its social media presence has increased by 80%. Currently, Impact has over 140 paid members and has nearly doubled the number of events the group previously hosted.
She loves this take-charge group of young professionals, and in her time with the organization, the group has added several new projects and events, including the Women's Build with Habitat for Humanity Omaha, Historic Neighborhood Stroll (in collaboration with the Omaha YP Council), Treat the Troops, Ales for Tails (a "Yappy" Hour to benefit the Humane Society), and a Taco Ride on the Wabash Trace.
Abby is also am a member of the Leadership CB Class 27, a 10-month leadership program ran by the Council Bluffs Area Chamber of Commerce. She serves on the local Friends of the Library Board, the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation, and the Make-A-Wish Iowa Awareness Council. She also serves on the marketing and events committee for our Gibraltar Neighborhood Association.
In her spare time, Abby and her boyfriend raise bees and chickens in their backyard and are currently experimenting with urban farming.
